Health and Climate Community Forum

Join us for a panel discussion on health and climate and how it is impacting our community in 2025.

Health is the most important thing we’ve got.

As doctors, we see more heart attacks, cancers, asthma, mental illness and more ill-health, due to our worsening climate.

We cannot wait any longer while we are trapped in the detrimental health effects of coal, oil and gas. We cannot risk 30 years of these health hazards while we wait for nuclear energy. 

We have solutions now that are better for our health, can protect our environment, can ease the cost of living and give us, our children and our grandchildren a safe future.

For the sake of those you care about, lets discuss how we can Put Our Health First.

Our Facilitator
Dr Shaun Watson is a Senior Neurologist working in Sydney, and is chair of Doctors for the Environment Australia NSW State Committee.

Our Guest Speakers
Dr Sophie Scamps is the Federal MP for Mackellar. An independent candidate, Dr Scamps was elected in 2022.  Prior to being elected, Dr Scamps served the community as an ED Doctor at Mona Vale Hospital and GP at Narrabeen.

Dr Kate Wylie is Executive Director of Doctors for the Environment Australia and a GP.   Prior to becoming Executive Director, Dr Wylie was Board Chair for Doctors for the Environment Australia and chair of RACGP’s Climate and Environmental Medicine Specific Interest Group.

Professor Anthony Harris  is a consultant psychiatrist with a special interest in early intervention and psychosis. He is the head of the specialty of Psychiatry in the Sydney Medical School.
