Using finances to save our planet

AfterHours Webinar: Wednesday 18th Feb. Starting at 7:30pm AEDT.

Money not only makes the world go around, its a powerful way to save our planet.

Choosing where we put our money makes a big difference. There are lots of simple things we can do, like switching our bank accounts from banks that invest in coal, oil, and gas, to ones that don't. We can do the same thing with our insurance, superannuation or any investments we might have.

Shareholder activism is a second powerful tool we can use and involves buying shares in a publicly traded company with the intention of advocating for changes in the company’s practices. Shareholders may engage directly with the company, attend and speak at AGMs, put forward resolutions, and vote on changes to the company business at their AGM.

Our webinar will discuss both divestment and shareholder activism, showing how we can use our money to be a force of good. We will also look at the bigger picture of how financial decisions shape global decision making.
